If you’re reading this you might have known me from Twitter or Tumblr or even MyDramaList.

I have done tons of reviews on Tumblr but I have finally decided to have my own blog. The reviews might become a longer read and some other posts will come along. This is also for my own entertainment because I do love to read what I wrote years later.

As an introduction post, I will show my ‘qualifications’ of a drama watcher. Also, kind of my 2024 wrap up.

Last year I finally watched 500 dramas! It is a lot when you think about it but I do my best at trying to watch every drama in existence. (I don’t think it’s working that well but I’m trying)

This year I have seen 48 Korean dramas. I had nothing much to do this year, as we all can see.

The kdramas that got 10 from me:

  • Death’s Game,

  • A Shop for Killers,

  • Pyramid Game,

  • Lovely Runner,

  • Light Shop.

Not a 10 but also the ones I enjoyed:

  • Welcome to Samdal-ri,

  • Weak Hero Class 1,

  • Recipe for Farewell,

  • Doctor Slump,

  • Queen of Tears,

  • The Atypical Family,

  • Good Partner,

  • Black Out,

  • A Virtuous Business,

  • Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born,

  • Family By Choice,

  • Mr. Plankton.

I have also seen 9 web dramas and two of them were somewhat entertaining - Love Playlist 4, Hope or Dope 2.

As much as I try to watch something from other countries it does not compare to kdrama numbers. So this year I only watched 4 but completely fell in love with Reset (China) and Don’t Call It Mystery (Japan).

We all are seeing where my series taste is leaning into but even I, once in a while watch films. I am not that great with watching films, so I have only seen 7 and Soulmate was the one to steal my heart and get a 10.

These are my ‘accomplishments’ this year but I had to drop some of the dramas. (I’m very sorry but it should have been better)

  • Queen of Divorce,

  • The Impossible Heir,

  • Frankly Speaking,

  • Romance in the House,

  • Iron Family.

On Twitter (X), I’m doing end of the year drama challenge, so there will be a lot more there or if you want to read reviews or see my least favourite dramas they are all on Tumblr.

I’m not sure how accurate the mydramalist wrap-up is (because for movies it was very inaccurate). However, the stats look pretty okay.

I have found new actors to enjoy like Byeon Woo Seok, who is now my new favourite. (Maybe, I should rename myself ByeonLeedramas, sounds kind of nice. 🤔)

2024 closed my W: Two Worlds era with being the only drama I would rewatch 1000 times (since 2016). I’m very happy to welcome Lovely Runner into my new obsession.

All I have to say is that 2024 was a way better year for me than 2023, as I got out of a slump. Even with a lot of mediocre dramas, there was so much that I could enjoy too.

I’m curious about what 2025 will bring us and let’s hope it’s more dramas with fewer criminals in it.
