Ranking K-Actors' Works #2

In September, I wrote the first post with Lee Jong Suk, Lee Da Hee, Lee Dong Wook and Lee Seung Kyung. I enjoyed looking back at their past works, seeing what I've seen from them and what didn't end up as good as I hoped.

New dramas have been on during that time, so here are different actors/actresses! Of course, I will rate only the things I've seen from them.

Ranking K-actors Works! From Worst to best. The tiers will be the same, but if you need a refresher: their best work, it's alright, easily forgettable, and WHY?? The last one can be both angry, "Why on earth are you here??", but also a genuine question.

Do you agree with my opinions?

Shin Ye Eun

I don't think any of her works really deserved a "WHY". The only reason "Meow The Secret Boy" got it was because it was an interesting choice for a drama...

It was fluffy and easy to watch, but the whole concept of a cat becoming a man is a bit bizarre.

Everyone loved "The Glory", and it was very popular at the time, but Shin Ye Eun wasn't playing the main role, and for a second, I forgot she was there. Her performance as a young bully was great, though.

It was great to see her in a different role.

"A-teen" goes there because I don't think a lot of people have seen it, and as a character, she didn't stick out to me that much. If I remember right, this was my first drama with her in it.

"It's alright" tier has a lot of great dramas, but there is no lasting memory of her character. I loved the drama special "A Moment of Romance", but it was short. I watched "It's Psychometric", so long ago that I barely remember anything, as well as that high school revenge story.

The biggest question mark was "A Hundrer Memories", this is a great drama, her acting is good, but this doesn't seem to be her breakthrough drama. She is a sweet character, and is like all trying her best, but was overshadowed by Kim Da Mi's character and a few others.

I feel like in "Yumi's Cells 2" more people got to see her (even if her character got hated on). She left a memorable impression there.

"Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born" has to be her number 1 drama. Her character is so interesting: the way she interacts with others, her relationship with mum and sister, her voice, and her performances.

She was stunning there.

Kim Go Eun
ree

"Why" tier is for every actor in that drama. I kind of get it, everyone wants to work with Kim Eun Sook, but sometimes we need to accept that her dramas are not always good... Did it become a hit? Kind of... Yeah... I get it.

I believe a lot of people have liked Kim Go Eun in "Exhuma", but I don't remember much from that film except some rituals.

I feel like everyone would agree with my opinions on "Yumi's Cells" and "Tune in for Love", so I won't comment on it. "Cheese in the Trap", however...

Listen! (or should it be read!)

It was my first drama where I saw her, and since then, she has been stuck in my mind, as well as a few other actors. The drama might not be very likeable, but it was very popular and brought out a lot of well-known people.

Her character had a great growth from a pushover to someone who can stand up for herself.

It's her debut drama!

"You and Everything Else" was also a great drama, but I feel like there was nothing special about her performance. Don't get me wrong, she did a good job, but it was similar to her other dramas (in a way of her acting, hope it makes sense to others).

Of course, at the very top we have to see "Goblin"! It was the drama that is now called a classic, so there is only one space for this drama, and it is at the top.

On the other hand, "Little Women" got me thinking a lot about her character. She was one of the three sisters, but she stood up quite well as the oldest sister and was very significant to everything that happened.

Also, I'm biased; I loved that drama.

Lee Jun Ho

I came back to write this after watching the first episode of "Typhoon Family", and I feel like most of the time he's really doing a great job. I like how he takes on different roles.

The first drama where I got to know Junho was "Just Between Lovers", and I fell in love with his noodle hair and character. Brooding, lonely man with trauma, this is what I want to see!

"Wok of Love" was quite a fun watch, also Junho as a chef... Is a chef's kiss.

It's kind of similar to "King the Land" in the sense that they're just fun rom-coms, but I do forget this drama exists.

I tried to be very fair here. I dropped "Good Manager" because it was veryy boring, but I know there are a lot of people who love it. Lee Junho and Nam Goongmin also got an award for their chemistry, so I can't put it in forgettable tier or why...

Even if I wanted to, I would feel bad.

Well, why tier go to "Confession" because it was boring and nobody remembers or knows that drama. I dropped it too, but it kind of has the same vibe as "Numbers" with L (Kim Myung Soo).

Kim You Jung

A short summary of her dramas should be: get her a partner in a drama that is of a similar age, please. It has gotten better, but they still exist.

"WHY" tier is pretty obvious to me. "Chicken Nugget" is fun in concept. She turns into one, but it's a shitshow as drama. At the end of the day, she was in the first episode, only if I remember right (maybe the last one too), so it's probably fine.

I hoped they paid her well.

"Backstreet Rookie" is what I was talking about. There are racist remarks, there is a guy who is falling in love with a minor... I don't know why it was turned into drama and has such great actors as Kim You Jung and Ji Chang Wook...

Everyone who was involved in the production of this drama, please explain why it exists.

Moving on, I watched it a long time ago, so maybe it adds up, but nobody remembers "Angry Mom", the same thing with "Clean with Passion for Now", though it should probably be in the "Why" tier too if we're talking about age gaps.

"Love Cells", both seasons are such an old drama that nobody remembers. Easily could have gotten into that tier, but I remember I had fun watching it; that's the only reason it's in there. She was a very cute and bubbly character.

The drama with Song Kang, "My Demon", didn't leave me with a big impression either. It was enjoyable at times, but it was fun to see her as a stoic character who is trying hard to survive. I love the fake marriage trope too!

For the top, I picked "20th Century Girl" because everyone was raving about it. The ending, the story, everyone was in a chokehold, and it was truly a film to show her charm.

I believe she will have many more amazing dramas in her list later on, especially since her new drama "Dear X" has come out recently. Maybe this will be her top!

he is psychometric is definitely one of shin ye eun's best!! and i would argue that kim go eun's yumi's cells s1 deserves a higher ranking. same for you and everything else. perhaps a middle tier between "their best work" and "it's alright" is missing 😄

It's probably because I forget a lot about He Is Psychometric... A middle tier like... "Their best work, but not really?" 🤣
