We're almost at spring, which means I want more dramas with romance rather than something heavy. Let's see if we'll get something similar to the warm spring, or maybe we will have to wait a bit more!

Is there a K-drama you're most excited about?

"Siren's Kiss" is coming out on the 2nd of March!
"Siren's Kiss" is coming out on the 2nd of March!

Starring: Park Min Young, Wi Ha Joon, Kim Jung Hyun, Lee Elijah

Synopsis: Follows Cha U Seok, who investigates an insurance fraud scheme linked to a series of mysterious deaths—only to become entangled with Han Seol A, who is suspected to be at the centre of it all. The more he digs into her secrets, the deeper he falls into a dangerous attraction that could ultimately cost him his life. With a tantalising pairing between the two promising an irresistible mix of romance, suspense, and psychological tension, the series asks one question that becomes impossible to ignore: Is she a killer, or is she being framed? And more importantly, will he survive long enough to find out? (Mydramalist)

Everyone loves Wi Ha Joon after "Squid Games" and "Little Women", and Park Min Young is a romance queen for sure. So, I'm quite surprised that I didn't see any hype around the drama.

I wonder how their chemistry will work, but I'm more excited to see Lee Elijah on screen again. I know "Decoy" came out in 2023, but I haven't watched it, so it doesn't count.

Kim Chul Gyu is the director of the drama, and it can mean (for me) that it's going to be a mid-drama or I'm going to fall in love with it. "Chicago Typewriter" and "Flower of Evil" are still somewhere on my lists of great dramas.

"Siren's Kiss" is a remake of a Japanese drama, "Ice World", which aired in 1999.

Makes me a bit more curious to see why, after all these years, there is a remake of it and how great it will be. Is there a big fandom for the Japanese version?

To add, the poster picture with Park Min Young wearing that long dress looks amazing!

Always Meet Again

Starring: Woo Ji Han, Shin Jeong You, Seo Seung Hyeon, Min Do Hee

Synopsis: Everyone has imagined it at least once. What if you could go back to the past? Jang Hye Seong, a well-known painter, visits his alma mater, Seongjin High School, to give a special lecture at the request of his friend. During a break, he stops by the art room and discovers his old sketchbook. Inside it, he finds a drawing of his first love, Lee U Jin. The moment he finishes the painting and puts the brush down, he is suddenly transported back to 2008, his high school days, where he reunites with U Jin. (Mydramalist)

A short 8-episode drama for the people who enjoy BL and time-travelling. The premise reminds me of "My First Love", just with men.

Airs: March 5th

Boyfriend on Demand

Starring: Ji Soo, Seo In Guk, Park Ji Ho, Kim Sung Cheol

Synopsis: The story follows exhausted webtoon producer Seo Mi Rae, who is accustomed to a nonexistent dating life due to her hectic schedule. Mi Rae receives a ‘Monthly Boyfriend’ device by chance, allowing her to enter a virtual world. Entering this virtual reality, she encounters unrealistically perfect boyfriends, awakening her dormant desires for romance. (Mydramalist)

Everyone says it reminds them of "7 First Kisses" because of the virtual men concept and the fantasy of being with them. For now, it looks like something fun to tune into, nothing too serious.

Airs: March 6th

"Shining" is coming out on the 6th of March!
"Shining" is coming out on the 6th of March!

Starring: Park Jin Young, Kim Min Ju, Shin Jae Ha, Park Se Hyun

Synopsis: A story in which young people who share a world of their own become each other’s confidants, and the light that illuminates their lives. Yeon Tae Seo is a subway driver with a sharp perspective on the world. While successfully achieving his longed-for independence and settling down, he encounters Mo Eun A. She is a former hotelier turned Seoul lodging manager, brimming with passion, depth, and lovable charm. This gently stirs up ripples in their daily lives as they were each other's first loves. (Mydramalist)

The synopsis of the drama looks like a simple romance, but when I looked up the director and screenwriter, it's easy to see that it will be a slow-burn.

Director Kim Yoo Jin, who has worked on "Our Beloved Summer", is teaming up with Lee Sook Yun, the screenwriter, who wrote"A Piece of Your Mind" and "Tune in for Love".

This might not be a drama completely for me, but the trailer shows a sweet romance that even I'm looking forward to. Plus, the poster is very cute too, as they're running into each other's arms.

It's always nice to see Park Jin Young as a lead because he will deliver a good performance, but personally I'll be sat for Shin Jae Ha.

It's always nice to see him in new roles, and maybe he will be a nice person here!

"Phantom Lawyer" is coming out on the 13th of March!
"Phantom Lawyer" is coming out on the 13th of March!

Starring: Yoo Yeon Seok, Esom, Kim Kyung Nam, Jeon Seok Ho

Synopsis: A quirky, heartwarming adventure in which the ghost-seeing lawyer Sin I Rang and the elite lawyer Han Na Hyeon resolve the injustices of very special clients. These "special clients" are none other than ghosts, and as the two lawyers uncover the truth behind their cases. Sin I Rang, a lawyer who began his practice in a former shaman's house and started seeing ghosts. When he’s "possessed," he becomes temporarily overtaken by the traits of the client he’s trying to help, which leads to dramatic personality changes. Han Na Hyeon is an elite lawyer who loses to I Rang. It unexpectedly changes her life. She gradually opens up to him and slowly transforms from a cold, calculating professional to someone who begins to heal from her hidden wounds. (Mydramalist)

Remember "Siren's Kiss"? Well, the director, Kim Chul Gyu, is working on this drama as a screenwriter! It's his first time doing it, so I wonder what we should expect...

Here, the director is Shin Jong Hun, who has worked on older dramas and films, so I don't really know any of this works. "Sowol Road", "Going My Home", and "Don't Worry" to name a few.

The casting seems solid. It's always nice to see Esom on my screen!

It reminds me a bit of another drama, "The Midnight Studio", but it's mostly because of the ghosts and a lawyer being there. The concepts seem a bit different, so I wonder how this will hold up.

Doctor Sin

Starring: Baek Seo Ra, Min Sun Hong, Ahn Woo Yeon, Son Ji In, Ji Young San

Synopsis: A medical thriller melodrama depicting the events that unfold between a genius doctor and the woman he loves after a chance accident. (Mydramalist)

After watching a trailer, this might be a perfect drama for makjang lovers. The screenwriter and director both worked on "Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)". Surprisingly, only 16 episodes, but there might be another season, looking at the track record.

Airs: March 14th

Mad Concrete Dreams

Starring: Ha Jung Woo, Lim Soo Jung, Kim Jun Han, Krystal Jung, Shim Eun Kyung

Synopsis: When Ki Su Jong, Min Hwal Seong's only hope, is in danger of having his building auctioned off, Hwal Seong suggests that they use the empty basement of the building to stage a fake kidnapping. However, as the fake kidnapping turns into a real kidnapping, things get more and more complicated, leading to an extreme situation. (Mydramalist)

This is supposed to be a criminal thriller comedy, but reading the synopsis, it leans more on the comedy side. A bit unhinged vibes. I'm surprised to see Krystal back in acting!

Airs: March 14th

Climax

Starring: Ju Ji Hoon, Ha Ji Won, Nana, Oh Jung Se, Cha Joo Young

Synopsis: The story follows prosecutor Bang Tae Seop, who jumps into a power cartel in his bid to reach the top of Korea’s elite, and the fierce survival game among the people surrounding him. Tae Seop becomes a star prosecutor almost overnight after marrying Korea’s top actress. His wife, Chu Sang A, is now regarded as past her prime after marriage. Hwang Jeong Won holds the key to opening Pandora’s box that exposes the ugly underside of the power cartel. (Mydramalist)

The cast for this drama is a solid one. If you like political dramas, this should be an enjoyable watch.

Airs: March 16th

If it's Deep, Yeonriri

Starring: Park Sung Woong, Lee Soo Kyung, Lee Seo Hwan, Lee Jin Woo, Choi Gyu Ri, Nam Mi Jung

Synopsis: The story follows the city-born family of Seong Tae Hun, who move down from Seoul to Yeonriri and struggle to return to the city. Through their experiences, the drama portrays both a chaotic family reboot and a healing journey. At the centre of the village are Im Ju Hyeong, the longtime village head and Nam Hye Seon, the women’s association president and an influential figure in the community. The series brings together the stories of longtime villagers, a city family trying to adapt, and young people facing love and life decisions, blending humour and healing within the setting of Yeonriri. (Mydramalist)

It's surprising that "If it's Deep, Yeonriri" only has 12 episodes because most of the series with this kind of synopsis are weekend dramas with 100 episodes. However, I'm curious how everything will go down!

Airs: March 26th
