Best of 2025 Romances

To celebrate Valentine's Day, it's time to talk about the best couples, best kisses, and more! Of course, I'll focus on couples from 2025.
Who was your favourite couple from last year?

"Melo Movie" will always be the drama where I come back to, especially because of the cute main leads. Ko Gyum and Kim Mu Bee have such great chemistry and understanding of one another. It's about waiting to open up, it's about yearning, and I'm here for that.
Cutest moment: when Ko Gyum is bothering Kim Mu Bee on set before they start dating, or Mu Bee sleeping at Ko Gyum's house. There are many funny moments like that in between the heartbreak.
"When Life Gives You Tangerines" should be everyone's dream if they want to get married. A husband who always stands for you and a stubborn but supportive wife. Almost a year since the drama came out, I'm still watching edits and crying.
Cutest moment: When Gwan Sik told Ae Sun that she should flip tables, not to listen to what his family says and stood by her side when she did that.
"Head Over Heels" couple were a sweet first love, a lot of amusing moments. My happy couple, basically. It wouldn't be a drama without sad, heartbreaking moments, but for this I decided to ignore it, and everything is well.
Cutest moment: Gyeon Woo sleeping with Seong A a.ka not getting any sleep because that girl is always coming to his side.

This category is for kisses that made me feel something. There are probably some that I'm forgetting, but these two made a great impression.
"Our Movie" has the best kiss of the last year, hands down. It has the softness, but they both pretend this doesn't mean anything. It's just an act. The way the male lead comes back for a second kiss is because he wants more, but is still in denial.
The YEARNING in this, the ANGST is all I can dream of.
You can start the video from 2:19; this is where the fun begins. It's very awkward at first, but when Genie says he will show her what a good kiss is, and he does! Great view to have a kiss, amazing chemistry (probably knowing each other from previous work helps). "Genie, Make a Wish" doesn't disappoint in the kissing department.

Bae Mun Jeong is technically one of the main characters for the drama "Law and the City". However, her screen time with her husband, Kim Ji Seok, is short-lived, so I'm putting them here.
Cutest moment: When Bae Mun Jeong tells her husband that she's pregnant. The phone call cuts off. Kim Ji Seok later comes to meet her at work to tell her how excited he is, and that his battery was dead. The man was really stressed about the thoughts that his wife might have at the moment.
I'm still mad that Mi Rae and Se Jin from "Our Unwritten Seoul" didn't get together on screen. If I remember right, it was kind of indicated that it was a good time for them to meet again, but that's basically it.
Cutest moment: Se Jin with his strawberry jam. How proud he looked to have it, while Mi Rae did it without thinking much.
"Our Movie" had an interesting match that I didn't even think could happen - DP Ji Chul Min and make-up artist, Jo Ji Mi. They didn't have many scenes together, but the sparks were there.
Cutest moment: Not a lot to choose from, so the choice is pretty obvious. When Jo Ji Mi burned Ji Chul Min's jacket, she later tried to repay for it.

We can all agree that we watched "Friendly Rivalry" for one reason only. To see the main leads get together and see some saphic romance, but sadly it didn't happen!
Cutest moment: The school festival. I know they both had something else on their minds during that time, but they also had some great moments between them.
"Genie Make a Wish" may not be the best drama, but it had some really good moments, and one of them is Sade and Irem's relationship. It's not explicitly said that they're dating; they are more like friends who can't really be friends. Or a love that can never work because of their masters, but there is a lot of potential!
Cutest moment: Any time Sade protected Irem from her master.
Side note: I had no idea people shipped Irem with her abusive master. He literally cut her tongue for some time, and because of him, she cannot hear properly.
Honourable mentions: "S Line" only because I would like to see Lee Soo Hyuk and Lee Da Hee as a couple in a drama.

Once again, "Genie, Make a Wish" makes an appearance. It's not a normal relationship, so abusive behaviour from Ki Ka Young was overlooked, and Genie can take a lot. However, the kisses, the cute scenes, don't make up for hitting one another and trying to kill one another, at times.
Cutest moment: Their bonding moments in his lamp. When she found those words written about her in Arabic, he translated.
While Ki Ka Young brought a psychopath into the dating field, on the other hand, we have Baek Ah Jin from "Dear X". Every relationship she had in the drama was toxic, but my favourite was her friendship with Kim Jae Oh.
I don't think this is a very popular ship though...
They were never a couple, so I probably shouldn't put them together. Instead of him, Heo In Gang or Moon Do Hyeok should be here because they actually dated.
Heo In Gang looked cute with Baek A Jin. I'll give them that. Even for one second, I want to believe that not everything in their relationship was a lie... However, I don't want to talk about that, but instead about my own created ship:
Cutest moment: The great bonding moment was their first meeting after Kim Jae Oh came out of prison. Yoon Jun Seo was also there, but I liked how they didn't care much about him and were vibing throughout the evening.

Kang Ji Yun and Yu Eun Ho from "Love Scout", there isn't anything about them that I liked that much. Eun Ho was definitely nice, and Ji Yun was the grumpy female lead, which, on paper, seems fun, but there wasn't much chemistry between them.
Similar to them are Oh Yi Young and Ku Do Won, a couple from "Resident Playbook". I didn't even get any romantic vibes from them.
