Last year, I did a tier list which was inspired by Readwithcindy, but instead of ranking book characters, I did it with K-drama ones. It's a nice way to remember which characters were my favourite, which I would hate to have any romantic relationships with, etc.

In the previous one, I also included "When The Phone Rings"; this is why it's absent here, and I'll also include some dramas that I haven't finished watching yet.

If you want to do the tier list yourself: Kdrama Love Interests 2025

Who would go in your "NO" category? Who has your "hand in marriage"?

NEVER NO category. Left to right: Ban Ju Yeon, Do Hyeon Jung, Ju Ga Ram, Han Beom U
NEVER NO category. Left to right: Ban Ju Yeon, Do Hyeon Jung, Ju Ga Ram, Han Beom U

"My Dearest Nemesis" Ban Ju Yeon: This guy is in his late twenties (probably) and acted like a child in the relationship. I'm not even commenting on his hobbies, which are games, manga and cartoons; it's the way he acts. The only good thing I can think about him is that he's rich; other than that, we could never match.

"Pump Up the Healthy Love" Do Hyeon Jung: Again, very opposite of me. I hate working out, and this dude's whole personality is that. Amazing body that he works hard for, great discipline, but as a lazy person who loves sweets, it's a no.

On a second thought, maybe we could be friends, but again, no.

Maybe at the point where he falls in love with tteokbeokki, I would rethink the decision, but no sooner.

"The Winning Try" Ju Ga Ram, "Tastefully Yours", Han Beom U: They're both too eccentric for me. Ju Ga Ram is a good coach for the team, but he never listens to anyone, does whatever he wants, and picks the weirdest way to do things. Again, not bad, but not my type.

Han Beom U is eccentric in a different way. He is pragmatic in business, but when it comes to love, he's all over the place.

There's no need to fly to another country just because your lover is there for a few days. I get the jealousy part, but there are still better ways. Too clingy? Too loud at times.

Let's keep our distance category. Left to right: Hong Si Jun, Prince Geyong Seong, Han Jae Pil, Yun Jun Seo, No Hwi O, Koo Do Won, Ham Ji U, Park Yeong Beom, Sunwoo Hae.
Let's keep our distance category. Left to right: Hong Si Jun, Prince Geyong Seong, Han Jae Pil, Yun Jun Seo, No Hwi O, Koo Do Won, Ham Ji U, Park Yeong Beom, Sunwoo Hae.

"Melo Movie" Hong Si Jun: Let's make things clear first, I don't think he's a bad guy. He gives love in the way he knows, but there would probably be another miscommunication trope between us.

Also, he would probably like to keep his distance from me as I am a wannabe writer.

"The First Night with the Duke" Prince Geyong Seong: We would not match at all. He's very stubborn and cocky, and I would just get an ick. He's nice for the female lead in the drama, but a bit too obsessive for my liking.

"A Hundred Memories" Han Jae Pil, "Dear X" Yun Jun Seo, "Resident Playbook" Koo Do Won: They all go to the same category of boring.

Han Jae Pil had a bit of a background story, but in the drama, we don't learn much about his personality. A young, tall, handsome man who comes from a wealthy family. Some things change, but a personality of cardboard stays.

Yun Jun Seo is very similar to that, too. I'll give him a tiny bit of grace because he is being manipulated, but there are still no thoughts behind those eyes.

We could be friends, though. I'll ask him how he got that publishing deal.

There is nothing much to say about Koo Do Won. He's a doctor and is married to his job. Even when I saw him in a relationship with the female lead, it was boring.

"Mad for Each Other" No Hwi O: He is working on his anger issues, making himself a better person, which should be applauded. Even though that doesn't happen completely on his own will.

As nice as he can be sometimes, he would annoy me too quickly.

"To the Moon" Ham Ji U: I admire his passion for music and wanting to become a singer, but that's basically the only thing that is interesting about him. He is a bit of a pushover too...

"When Life Gives You Tangerines" Park Yeong Beom: Easy, I don't want to deal with his mother... I don't think there is a person who would like to do that. I appreciate that he wanted to distance himself from her, but not enough effort was put in.

"My Youth" Sunwoo Hae: He has some witty remarks, I'll give him that. However, he would feel more like a brother figure than a boyfriend.

Friend-zoned category. From left to right: Ko Gyeon U, Kang Mi Yeong, Seo Ui Jun, Kang Yeo Reum, Yoo Eun Ho, Lee Ho Su, Park Cheong Seop, Kim Sang Hak, Lee Da Eum, Philip Cho.

"Oh My Ghost Clients" Ko Gyeon U: He's a great support and funny at times. I enjoyed his screentime in the drama, and that's about it.

"The Nice Guy" Kang Mi Yeong: She was a sweetheart, stood for what she thought was right and stayed close to the people she loved.

I chose her instead of the male lead because the drama leans more on his perspective, and I think she'd be a wonderful friend.

"Second Shot at Love" Seo Ui Jun: I feel like he would nag a lot. I don't drink nearly as much as the female lead in the drama, but he would find something. He's a kind person, though, and good to have a doctor friend.

"My Lovely Journey" Kang Yeo Reum: It would be wonderful to travel with her and experience things. She's not afraid to try out something new, which is great. Maybe my opinion will change if we get the second season of the show.

There's room for growth... Friends to lovers?

"Love Scout" Yoo Eun Ho: He's a great father, and it's not the reason why he got friend-zoned. I would even go to say that he would be an amazing colleague, but nothing more.

"Our Unwritten Seoul" Lee Ho Su, "When Life Gives You Tangerines" Park Cheong Seop: I feel like I have nothing bad to say about them. They're great people, great husbands, great friends. They just didn't take my heart.

"You and Everything Else" Kim Sang Hak: Again, not a bad person, but I don't think I could trust him in a relationship. The way he kept going to Sang Yeon and never informed Eun Jung.

Better communication, drawing lines, it's my type.

Even if we take into consideration that Sang Yeon asked not to tell Eun Jung about her brother, he had chances to mention even just a vague hint that the two of them were meeting.

"Our Movie" Lee Da Eum: I'm not as strong as the male lead, and I don't think I would ever be ready to go through that kind of heartbreak. Lee Da Eum is sunshine, and it's easy to fall in love with her, but there could never be a happy ending, which would bother me.

"Shin's Project" Philip Cho: I know he's older than me, or we're the same age, but he feels like a child. Not even his actions, or whatever he does, just the vibes I'm getting.

One-night stand category. From left to right: Gang Cheol, Kong Ji Hyeok, Jung Hae Seong, Kang Joon Sang, Heo In Gang, Han Se Jin, Dokgo Cheol, Iblis, Baek Sang Hyeon, Ahn Ju Hyeong, and Kim U Ju.
One-night stand category. From left to right: Gang Cheol, Kong Ji Hyeok, Jung Hae Seong, Kang Joon Sang, Heo In Gang, Han Se Jin, Dokgo Cheol, Iblis, Baek Sang Hyeon, Ahn Ju Hyeong, and Kim U Ju.

"The Haunted Palace" Gang Cheol, "Winter Sonata" Kang Joon Sang: They have this flirty man energy. Gang Cheol, on the meaner side, while Kang Joon Sang is romantic.

I think Gang Cheol ended up here mostly because he seems nonchalant, and his sassiness is funny.

While I saw how Kang Joon Sang flirts with the female lead, the tension was great.

"Dynamite Kiss" Kong Ji Hyeok: His obsessiveness/clinginess scares me a bit. A rich dude to have fun with, but I wouldn't look for something more. (Said the female lead and then got entangled with him)

It's amusing to watch his character from the side.

"Undercover High School" Jung Hae Seong: He has the charm, all I can remember from the drama.

"Dear X" Heo In Gang: Look, he's very nice, puppy-like and all the good things. I also wouldn't want to upset him or traumatise him more. But before Baek Ah Jin came into the picture, I think it would be a good friends-with-benefits situation.

"Our Unwritten Seoul" Han Se Jin: I thought about this a lot.

He's a wonderful person and in some ways has his life together, which is amazing. Maybe if we met when he's doing business instead of farming, there would be more sparks to go off with, because I'm a city girl.

I love the stability he gives to Mi Rae, though.

"My Troublesome Star" Dokgo Cheol: If we're talking about a younger version of him, Dokgo was very cute, and we might date. However, the older version doesn't entice me that much.

"Genie, Make a Wish" Iblis: It would just be a fun time, maybe I would get some more wishes out of it, but that's all.

"Would You Marry Me?" Baek Sang Hyeon and Kim U Ju: They're quite cute in their own way, but I don't think we have anything in common. I do like that they're rich...

"Law and the City" An Ju Hyeong: He's just there because Lee Jong Suk plays him. He makes good points sometimes, too, and I agree with him more often than the female lead, but we're just cynical, I guess.

"Melo Movie" Ko Gyeom: At first, I wasn't planning to put him here, but as I watched back the videos with him and Mu Bi, I found them really cute. I also relate to Mu Bi a lot, so maybe he will suit me as well.

"Typhoon Family" Kang Tae Pung: He's always striving for success, and adding his amazing fashion sense makes him a great husband! A great bonus to that is how sweetly he treated the female lead.

"Dear X" Kim Jae O: I know there wasn't any romance with him, and he's also being manipulated, but differently from Jun Seo, he has his own opinions and judgment.

He might be here also because I ship him with Baek Ah Jin (of course, if she would stop using people).

"Law and the City" Kim Ji Seok: He didn't have much screentime, but it was enough to see what a good husband he is. Always looking out for his wife and trying his best to accommodate her when needed. He notices the little details, and that's all that matters.

"When Life Gives You Tangerines" Yang Gwan Sik: Similar to Ji Seok, he's very attentive and does everything for his family. He might not talk a lot, but everything is said with his actions.

this was a very fun read!! you're so picky, even with someone with the face of lee junho himself😆 but true, even if i might be biased about some actors, their characters are a completely different story !

Replying to

Exactly, separating actors from their characters is quite hard sometimes😂
