I'm sad to say this, but this month does not seem that fun in Dramaworld. The start is interesting, but I don't anticipate anything from the second half.
Maybe it's good, I'll finally have time to catch up.
Do you agree with me? Or does the second half of October seem better?

Starring: Kim Woo Bin, Bae Suzy, Ahn Eun Jin, Steve Noh Ko Kyu Pil, Lee Joo Young
Synopsis: Cold, impassive Ga Yeong has spent her life under her grandmother’s care, whose watchful eye and tough-love approach have helped keep Ga Yeong’s psychopathic tendencies in check. When Ga Yeong unexpectedly stumbles upon a magical lamp, she awakens the mysterious spirit Genie from his thousand-year slumber — and yes, he promises the young woman three life-changing wishes. Unleashed into a new millennium, Genie’s mischievous magic shakes up Ga Yeong’s quiet life, and as he navigates the unfamiliar realities of the modern world, the two find themselves in a surprising whirlwind romance. (Netflix)
The lineup of the actors seems good; it's also been a long time since we saw Kim Woo Bin with Suzy! Ga Yeong's grandmother will play Kim Mi Kyung, so it has to be good. Although I can't believe we're seeing Kim Mi Kyung play a grandmother. Seems too early for that!
The director Ahn Gil Ho has worked on dramas like "The Glory", "Happiness", and "Memories of the Alhambra", which makes me believe that this drama has a lot of potential. I'm not as sure about the second director, Lee Byung Hun, but it's mostly because of the humour in his dramas. He worked on "Chicken Nugget", "Twenty", and "Be Melodramatic". However, they will work together, so maybe we'll have a good balance of seriousness and jokes.
I feel like this is going to be one of those dramas where you either love it or hate it.
The drama hasn't come out yet, but it has already surrounded itself in controversy. A lot of people aren't happy with Kim Woo Bin being Iblis (a.k.a Satan). We already saw a lot of portrayals of Satan, so I don't understand the problem. There are also demons and other things in dramas, so let's not make much of a fuss about another creature...
I believe the problematic part might be the portrayal of him. Kdramas don't have a good track record of portraying other countries well, so I wonder how this will turn out.
The Story of Bi Hyeong: Enchanted Master of the Goblin
Starring: Hwang Jae Wook, Lee Cha Min, Kang Chan Woo, Nam Taek Jun
Synopsis: When a naïve countryside dreamer becomes the only human capable of sustaining the Goblin King, he's pulled into a dangerous yet intoxicating cohabitation - where romance, comedy, fantasy, and horror collide. (Mydramalist)
Airs: October 3rd

Starring: Choi Woo Shik, Jung So Min, Seo Bum June, Shin Seul Ki
Synopsis: Kim U Ju is the only son and fourth-generation heir of Myungsoondang, South Korea’s oldest bakery, founded 80 years ago. He is a talented marketing team leader and perfectionist, yet a logical narcissist determined to run the family business in his late father’s place. His professional relationship with Yoo Me Ri, a designer from a partner company, takes an unexpected turn, pulling them into a whirlwind situation that forces him to become her fake husband. (Mydramalist)
The first thought that crossed my mind when I read the synopsis was the similarities with "Ms Incognito" (the drama that will come out in September). It's probably because both of them have a contract marriage, but it might go in a completely different way.
The actors as well as the directors of the drama seem pretty reliable. Hwang In Hyeok directed "Doctor Prisoner", while Song Hyun Wook worked more in romance dramas like "The Beauty Inside" or "The King's Affection".
Choi Woo Shik is really good at picking his projects. I can't say I liked them all, but objectively speaking, they're good, so I trust this one.

Starring: Lee Jun Ho, Kim Min Ha, Kim Min Seok, Kwon Han Sol
Synopsis: Kang Tae Pung's father runs a small company named Typhoon Trading Company. Due to his wealthy father, Kang Tae Pung lives a carefree life, but the worst economic crisis hits South Korea. He is determined not to let the company, which his father loved like his own family, go bankrupt. Although he was immature in his past, he is armed with a warm heart, a strong sense of responsibility, and a spirit for challenges. O Mi Seon is the eldest daughter in her family and carries the burden of her family on her shoulders. She works as a bookkeeper at Typhoon Trading Company. With her diligence and sincerity, she dreams of becoming a career woman at Typhoon Trading Company. (Mydramalist)
I'm not sure how the drama will turn out, but it will definitely leave an image in my head of Junho's hairstyle.
Kim Min Ha has shown herself to be a great actress in her projects like "Way Back Love", so I'm glad to see her on screen again so soon. As well as Lee Junho, whom I haven't seen in quite a while.
My biggest concern for "Typhoon Family" is that I don't like any of the dramas that Lee Na Jung directed.
I was very displeased with "See You in My 19th Life", and I don't think anyone was happy with "Love Alarm". That is why I really want to believe this will be different.
Please tell me it will be different!

A heartfelt journey of resilience and survival — one that evokes both tears and laughter in the pursuit of happiness. (Mydramalist)

(Mydramalist)

i agree with you that there's not really anything eyecatching... some fantasy at the beginning of the month sounds sort of promising, but i think i'll look at the ratings once everything starts airing, then it'll be more obvious what's actually good !
